Olive oil is the main source of fat. The "Diet" calls for eating lots of fruits, vegetables, pulses and fresh and organic nuts, while avoiding canned and artificial foods. Both pasta, rice and bread made from whole grains are part of the daily diet. It is preferable to ration the consumption of dairy products. It is recommended to eat fish in abundance, at least two fresh fish a week to get the benefits of omega-3 fatty acids. Calls for moderation in the consumption of red meat.
